Young actor Devan is both the lead and director of the upcoming supernatural love story ‘Krishna Leela’, featuring the intriguing tagline ‘Tirigochina Kaalam’. With Dhanya Balakrishnan as the female lead, the film is produced by Jyotsna Ji under Mahasen Visuals and presented by Baby Vaishnavi. The story and dialogues are crafted by Anil Kiran Kumar Ji, and ‘Krishna Leela’ is scheduled for a grand release on November 7. The film’s teaser and trailer have already garnered positive feedback from audiences. Devan recounted the beginning of his journey, stating, “I was working as a software engineer while trying to establish myself in films and had already been in two movies.
While waiting for new opportunities, producer Jyotsna Ji and writer Anil shared this story with me. After contemplating it for a week, I made some modifications to appeal to today’s generation and created a unique screenplay. They responded positively to the idea.” Devan surprised everyone by choosing to direct, despite lacking prior experience. “I’ve always had a solid grasp of story and screenplay,” he explained. “With that confidence, I approached DOP Chota K Naidu garu. He was very impressed after hearing the story and promised his full support. Thus, ‘Krishna Leela’ came to fruition.” Regarding the film’s concept, Devan explained, “‘Krishna Leela’ translates to Time Returned. Leela means play — it revolves around how Krishna engages in a love story.
While humans cannot reverse time, what if time itself returns with divine influence? That’s the core of our narrative, presented in a captivating manner.” He also noted the film’s philosophical themes. “Every action influences destiny. Everyone we encounter has a past connection with us. The Bhagavad Gita teaches us to love others without expectation, and we’ve aimed to portray that beautifully in this story,” he elaborated. On integrating Krishna’s philosophy, Devan remarked, “It’s a vast subject. I often listened to Gangadhar Shastri’s lectures and consulted him during script development. He cleared up my doubts and helped deepen the story.
What we envisioned on paper has materialized with authenticity and emotion.” He praised his team, stating, “Dhanya Balakrishnan deeply connected with her role and delivered an outstanding performance. We also have talented artists like Prithvi garu and Tulsi garu, whose contributions enhanced the film. Chota garu instilled confidence in me, Satish Mutyala garu beautifully captured every frame, and Bheemsgaru’s music and background score are remarkable.” Devan concluded with heartfelt sincerity: “Love is a universal emotion. After experiencing ‘Krishna Leela’, audiences will feel a renewed bond with those around them. For now, my primary aim is to bring this story closer to their hearts.
