Lava has introduced the Agni 4 in India, expanding its Agni series and aiming to compete as a flagship in the midrange market. This smartphone features an updated design, improved hardware, and the Vayu AI suite specifically designed for Indian users. The Agni 4 showcases a premium look with an aluminum alloy frame and a glass back, a combination that is increasingly uncommon in this price bracket. Its flat edges contribute to its modern appearance, while the capsule-shaped dual-camera setup, featuring prominent Agni branding and two notification lights, provides a unique visual appeal. Additionally, a customizable Action Key is included, allowing users to take photos, capture screenshots, open apps, and more.
A notable feature this year is Vayu AI, Lava’s proprietary AI model aimed at offering practical support. This suite includes specialized agents for education, creativity, productivity, and system management, with region-specific tools such as an AI Math Teacher, an English Teacher, horoscope guidance, and image analysis capabilities. The Agni 4 is compatible with Google Gemini and popular utilities like Circle-to-Search. The display consists of a 6.67-inch 1.5K AMOLED screen with a 120Hz refresh rate, 10-bit color depth, and a peak brightness of 2400 nits, making it notably vibrant and bright.
The device is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 8350 5G chipset, boasting an AnTuTu score exceeding 1.4 million, along with a 4300mm² VC liquid cooling system to ensure optimal performance during demanding tasks. The camera setup includes a 50MP main camera with OIS, an 8MP ultra-wide lens, and a 50MP front camera capable of 4K 60fps recording. Lava emphasizes that its AI optimization caters to Indian skin tones and environments. A 5000mAh battery provides up to 14 hours of YouTube streaming, with 66W fast charging capable of reaching 50 percent battery in under 19 minutes. The phone also offers IP64 resistance and Corning Gorilla Glass protection.
Operating on clean, ad-free Android 15 from the start, the Lava Agni 4 will be available for purchase on November 25 via Amazon, priced at ₹24,999 for the 8GB/256GB model, with bank offers reducing the effective price to ₹22,999.
