During the ‘Samudra se Samriddhi’ program in Bhavnagar, Gujarat, Prime Minister Narendra Modi emphasized that India must strive for self-reliance, urging that all products, whether chips or ships, should be made in India. He acknowledged the spirit of ‘Vishwabandhu’ but pointed out that reliance on foreign nations is a significant obstacle. Modi stated that achieving ‘Atmanirbhar’ status is essential for the country’s progress. He inaugurated and laid the foundation for development projects exceeding Rs 34,200 crore during the event. Addressing the audience at Jawahar Maidan, he asserted that while India has no major enemies globally, its greatest challenge lies in its dependency on other countries.
He stressed that this reliance must be overcome collectively, as greater foreign dependence can lead to national failure. For global peace and prosperity, the PM noted that the world’s most populous nation must become self-reliant. He insisted that the future of 1.4 billion citizens should not be left to others, and emphasized the need for India to confront its challenges and demonstrate true self-sufficiency. Modi also criticized the previous Congress-led UPA government for neglecting India’s capabilities since independence.
