Maharaja Bakht Singh (1751-1752). Bakht Singh, son of Maharaja Ajit Singh of Jodhpur, succeeded his nephew Ram Singh to the throne of Marwar in 1751. Even after Ram Singh left Jodhpur, Jai Appa captured Phalodi and Ajmer with the help of Scindia, but soon Bakht Singh again captured Ajmer.

Ram Singh went to Mandsaur with the Marathas. Vakhtsingh, meeting Maharaja Madho Singh of Jaipur, had thought of driving away the Marathas from Malwa as well, but while discussing about this, he died in Sindholi (Jaipur state) on September 21, 1752. It is said that he was poisoned in Jaipur.
Bakht Singh was very brave, generous, intelligent, ethical and efficient ruler. He ruled Nagaur very efficiently from 1730 to 1752. Strengthened and equipped the fort of Nagaur. The Marathas did not allow any interference in the state administration. Strengthened the city wall of Jodhpur by expanding it.
