Mattha
Preparation:
- 500 ml buttermilk
- 1 tbsp sugar
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp oil
- 1/2 tsp jeera powder
- 1/2 tsp jeera seeds
- 5 curry leaves
- 2 slit green chillies
- 1 tsp grated ginger
- A pinch of hing
- 1 tbsp chopped kothmir
Method:
- Prepare the buttermilk mixture: In a vessel, combine buttermilk, sugar, salt, jeera powder, and kothmir. Mix well.
- Make the tempering: Heat oil in a pan. Add jeera seeds, curry leaves, hing, green chillies, and grated ginger. Sauté until fragrant.
- Combine: Pour the hot tempering into the buttermilk mixture and stir well.
- Serve: Serve immediately, chilled for best taste.
