Just days ahead of its annual Connect showcase, Meta seems to have unintentionally disclosed some of its most significant announcements. An unlisted video, which briefly went live before being removed, showcased details of new Ray-Ban-branded smart glasses featuring a built-in display, alongside a new range of Oakley wearables. As reported by UploadVR, the leaked video displayed branding for “Meta | Ray-Ban Display.” A brief clip indicated that the display is integrated into the right lens, enabling users to interact with Meta AI, navigate maps, translate signs, or compose message replies using a connected wristband. This wristband may utilize surface electromyography (sEMG) technology, which interprets signals from subtle hand gestures.
Previous reports had associated this technology with Meta’s “Hypernova” project, suggesting the clip demonstrated this system in operation. In addition to the Ray-Ban glasses, the video hinted at wraparound Oakley “Sphaera” glasses featuring a camera located at the nose bridge. Meta might also unveil a translucent variant of its Oakley HSTN smart glasses, similar to last year’s transparent Ray-Bans. While Meta has yet to confirm the leak, the timing implies these innovations will be prominently featured at the upcoming Meta Connect event. If true, they would represent a substantial enhancement of Meta’s wearable ecosystem, integrating AI, AR navigation, and gesture-based controls into fashionable eyewear.
