Chandigarh, May 24 (). The Anti-Human Trafficking Unit of the Haryana Police reunited a family in Rajasthan with their only son after a decade. The boy is still a minor.
ADG OP Singh has ordered the in-charges of all Anti-Human Trafficking Units (AHTUs) to collect children from all states bordering Haryana from time to time to create a database of missing children, a police spokesperson said on Wednesday. Visit children’s homes.
The AHTU unit had contacted the welfare officer at the children’s home in Rajpura, Patiala, Punjab, in search of the missing children. The welfare officer told them that they did not have any child from Haryana, but had a child who was living here without any family details.
During counselling, the child gave his name and that of his parents, who were residents of Samastipur in Bihar. On contacting the child’s address, the relatives said that the child is not theirs.
During further counselling, the word Dalghar came up. Dalghar was searched on the internet, from which information about six villages was found. The spokesman said that all the states were contacted and it was learned that Dalghar is located in Sirohi district of Rajasthan.
When the photo of the child was sent to the village, the father recognized the son. A photo was also sent to the father and a video call was also made. The father shared that his son had gone missing from his village 10 years back in 2013. At that time he was six years old.
The minor was handed over to the family after necessary formalities ordered by the Child Welfare Council in Amritsar.
