Saharsa: On Monday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi accused the RJD of obstructing development initiatives in Bihar by exerting pressure on the Congress-led UPA government at the national level to seek revenge for its removal from power in the state in 2005. Modi also emphasized that the Congress reluctantly consented to announce Tejashwi Yadav as the chief ministerial candidate for the INDIA bloc, following the RJD’s coercive tactics. “In the upcoming elections, the Congress, which has already diminished in influence in Bihar, has pledged to ensure the RJD’s downfall,” he stated.
Modi called on the electorate to penalize the RJD for its past misdeeds and maintained that “the NDA represents progress, while the jungle raj proponents embody ruin.” He remarked that the RJD was in power at the Centre when it lost authority in Bihar in 2005, highlighting that projects like the Kosi Mahasetu were approved during Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s administration. He alleged that the RJD’s anger at Nitish Kumar’s new government led it to pressure Manmohan Singh and Sonia Gandhi, resulting in the halt of such projects in Bihar. “The RJD fails to comprehend the hardships faced by the Kosi region’s populace, which improved due to the bridge’s construction. We are also pursuing river interlinking initiatives.
The NDA’s manifesto presents a plan for flood management,” he said. Addressing an area with a significant Muslim demographic, Modi accused the RJD-Congress alliance of being lenient towards “infiltrators” and dismissive of the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the Chhath festival. “While RJD and Congress leaders frequently travel abroad, they neglect to visit Ayodhya. If they harbor such animosity towards Lord Ram, they can still explore the monuments honoring Nishad Raj and Valmiki,” Modi remarked, targeting the INDIA bloc’s stance on marginalized castes.
