Modi Criticizes Congress for Supporting Infiltrators in Assam

Guwahati: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Sunday launched a sharp critique of the Congress party during a public gathering in Assam’s Darrang district, accusing the party of consistently aligning itself with anti-national elements and terrorists trained by Pakistan. “Instead of supporting our courageous soldiers, Congress has opted to back infiltrators and those who pose a threat to India’s unity. This party has repeatedly shielded anti-national forces,” PM Modi stated to the audience at Mangaldoi, emphasizing that the BJP would ensure that infiltrators do not seize land or change the state’s demographics. In a significant advancement for Assam’s healthcare sector, Modi announced projects worth Rs 6,300 crore in Darrang district.

These initiatives include the establishment of Darrang Medical College, a nursing college, and a GNM school in Mangaldai town. Additionally, the 118.5 km-long Guwahati Ring Road project, which connects Kamrup and Darrang districts in Assam and Ri Bhoi in Meghalaya, was also unveiled. The Prime Minister praised the BJP government’s efforts in Assam, asserting that they have begun to rectify past injustices and eliminate illegal claims, as he accused the Congress party of encroaching on agricultural land and places of worship during its governance. “Encroachments on farmers’ land and religious sites were perpetrated under previous Congress administrations. Since the establishment of the BJP-led NDA government, we have started to rectify those wrongs and eliminate illegal claims,” he remarked.

“In Assam, millions of acres have been reclaimed from infiltrators,” he claimed, adding, “The BJP’s goal is to protect the nation from infiltrators and restore its integrity. I challenge those politicians who support infiltrators to step forward and address this issue; let them demonstrate what actions they have taken to remove infiltrators compared to our efforts. Those who harbor infiltrators will face consequences; the nation will not forgive them.” He further alleged, “For political gain, Congress aligns itself with every individual and ideology that opposes India. We witnessed this even during Operation Sindoor. Today, as our Army conducts Operation Sindoor and dismantles terror hideouts in Pakistan, Congress chooses to side with Pakistan’s Army.

Instead of supporting our forces, Congress promotes the agenda of those who protect terrorists.” He added, “For Congress, vote-bank politics is the utmost priority; they disregard the nation’s interests. Today, Congress has also become the foremost protector of infiltrators and desires their permanent settlement in India.” While addressing the gathering, Modi also encouraged citizens to purchase ‘swadeshi’ products for their children’s “bright future.” He praised GST reforms, stating, “Now GST will undergo next-generation reforms. I have come here today with this good news. Exactly nine days from today, on the first day of Navratri, GST rates will be significantly reduced.

This will benefit every family in the country and make everyday items more affordable.” The PM is scheduled to depart for Kolkata from Jorhat airport on Sunday evening.
