A tense scenario emerged at Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Terminus (CST) bus depot on Friday when an unattended red bag sparked fear among travelers. Authorities quickly evacuated the area as a safety measure, particularly since the city has been on high alert following the recent deadly explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort. The bag was spotted around 4:45 PM, leading police to call in the Bomb Detection and Disposal Squad (BDDS) for a comprehensive examination. After a meticulous inspection, officials verified that the bag posed no threat and the incident was ultimately deemed a false alarm. Security agencies throughout Maharashtra have heightened their vigilance in response to the Delhi blast, which resulted in at least 10 fatalities.
Compounding the anxiety, investigators recently dismantled a significant “white-collar” terror network spanning Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, and Uttar Pradesh, arresting multiple doctors allegedly associated with a Jaish-e-Mohammad module and confiscating nearly 3,000 kilograms of ammonium nitrate in Faridabad.
