New Delhi, March 28 (). Muslim intellectuals, who held a meeting with Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) supremo Mohan Bhagwat, are upset over the lack of affirmative action by Hindu organizations on hate speeches.
In a letter after the March 7 meeting, Muslim intellectuals said there has been no let-up in hate speeches, genocide and acts of violence against Muslims.
The letter also draws attention to anti-Muslim marches by Hindu organizations in Chhattisgarh and Maharashtra against the minority community.
Muslim leaders asked the RSS chief to speak on the issue and take strict action against those spreading hatred against the state government. The letter has been written by SY Qureshi, Ju Shah, Najeeb Jung, Saeed Sherwani and Shahid Siddiqui.
According to sources, the reaction comes after eminent Muslim citizens and religious organizations met RSS leaders at former Delhi LG Najeeb Jung’s residence in March and discussed the issue of harmony between the communities.
The Muslim side openly wants an appeal from the RSS and its affiliates against lynching, as well as an end to hate propaganda on television channels.
The RSS was represented by Indresh Kumar, Krishna Gopal and Ram Lal.
During the meeting, the RSS raised the issue of cow slaughter and the use of the word Kafir for the majority in India.
To this, the Muslim side suggested declaring cow as the national animal on the issue and said that they would ask their community not to use the word Kafir in public.
