11 December 2025 | Navjot Kaur Sidhu, recently suspended from the Congress party for her remarks about “Rs 500 crore for chief minister’s chair,” has declared her unwavering support for the party. She emphasized that both she and her husband will always remain committed to Congress, despite the current controversies surrounding her.
Kaur, the spouse of former Punjab Congress president and cricketer Navjot Singh Sidhu, took to social media to voice her frustrations. She accused the state unit president, Amrinder Singh Raja Warring, of undermining the party’s integrity and claimed that he is responsible for the party’s declining fortunes in Punjab.
Following her suspension, Kaur stated, “We are and will always be with the Congress and win our Punjab state and gift it to our own humble, loving and sacrificing Gandhi family.” Her comments come after the Punjab Congress took action against her for a statement that ignited political debates.
In a series of posts on X, Kaur claimed that around 70 capable and loyal leaders are in contact with her, who have been distanced from the Congress under Warring’s leadership. She asserted that these individuals are deserving candidates for Congress tickets, contradicting Warring’s decisions. “Congress will win Punjab despite your focus on destroying 70 percent of our seats where you have already given dummy tickets to ineffectual people,” she alleged.
Additionally, Kaur accused Warring of having sold many election tickets in Punjab and questioned his past electoral defeats in his own constituency. She suggested that his priorities lie in damaging Congress rather than strengthening it, alleging collusion with opposition parties to hinder Congress candidates.
Kaur’s remarks included a sharp critique of Warring’s leadership style, stating that he distorts facts and verbally abuses dissenting voices. She defended her earlier comments, clarifying that Congress has never solicited money from her, and addressed the context of her statements regarding financial constraints.
She further challenged Warring’s integrity, insinuating that he was expelled from Gujarat for unethical ticket sales and questioned his financial dealings. Kaur concluded her statements by affirming that Congress will unite against individuals like Warring who threaten the party’s unity and success.
