Ayodhya, October 8: Ayodhya experienced a remarkable blend of North and South Indian cultures on Wednesday as Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman, during her two-day visit, teamed up with Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath to unveil statues of South Indian music saints Tyagaraja Swamigal, Purandaradasa, and Arunachal Kavi at Brihaspati Kund in Tedhi Bazaar. The ceremony, infused with devotion and South Indian traditions, was attended by Nirmala Sitharaman’s parents, adding an emotional element to the occasion. CM Yogi welcomed the Union Minister with a traditional bouquet, emphasizing Brihaspati Kund as not only a historic location but also a symbol of cultural unity, where the devotional practices of North and South India meet.

Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman remarked that Ayodhya serves as both a center of faith and a representation of India’s cultural essence. While honoring the three saints, she noted that Tyagaraja Swamigal, Purandaradasa, and Arunachal Kavi brought Indian classical music and devotional customs to the global forefront. Their works intertwined society through love, devotion, and unity. Expressing her joy at the beauty and tranquility of Brihaspati Kund, she stated that the cultural ties between Ayodhya and Karnataka date back centuries, and the unveiling of these statues symbolizes the unification of India’s North-South traditions. On this occasion, CM Yogi Adityanath also mentioned that the city of Shri Ram, Ayodhya, is evolving into a hub of spiritual and cultural renaissance.

He added that Nirmala Sitharaman’s visit represents a strong indication of India’s cultural unity and harmony. At Brihaspati Kund, CM Yogi Adityanath, along with Finance Minister Suresh Khanna and Tourism and Culture Minister Jaiveer Singh, took a moment to relax on intricately carved stone benches, enjoying the peaceful lake, melodious atmosphere, and well-kept grounds. Praising the artistic craftsmanship and overall beautification, CM Yogi emphasized that Brihaspati Kund exemplifies a perfect fusion of devotion and aesthetic beauty, showcasing Ayodhya’s rich cultural heritage.
