Patna, May 18 (). Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar and Deputy Chief Minister Tejashwi Yadav will travel to Bengaluru on Saturday to attend the swearing-in ceremony of the new Congress government in Karnataka.
Congress has sent invitations to Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav and they have accepted it.
The swearing-in ceremony will begin at 12.30 pm on May 20, where Siddaramaiah will take over as Chief Minister and D.K. Shivkumar will take oath as the Deputy Chief Minister, along with some ministers are also going to take oath.
The Congress is trying to send a message of opposition unity to the BJP by sending invitations to top leaders of opposition parties.
Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav are trying for opposition unity in the country. He met several leaders of opposition parties, including Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge and senior leader Rahul Gandhi, AAP’s Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee of Trinamool Congress, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav, CPI’s D. Raja Is. He has met CPI-M general secretary Sitaram Yechury, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar, Shiv Sena-UBT chief Uddhav Thackeray and BJD chief and Odisha chief minister Naveen Patnaik. Barring Patnaik, all of these leaders have fully supported Nitish’s efforts.
