Bhubaneswar: On Tuesday, Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi participated alongside numerous devotees in paying respects to the rising sun by the Kuakhai river, marking the final day of Chhath Puja. Devotees also assembled along various rivers and water bodies throughout the state to present ‘Usha Arghya’ to the sun. “Today, during the auspicious Chhath Puja, I took part in the event held at the New Baliyatra ground near Bhubaneswar Mangaleshwar. I prayed to ‘Chhathi Maiya’ and the Sun God for the prosperity of the state and the happiness and peace of all Odisha’s residents. May this grand festival of social harmony bring auspiciousness to everyone’s life,” Majhi expressed in a post on X.
He also extended his greetings to the residents of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, and Jharkhand living in Odisha. The four-day celebrations commenced on October 25 with the ‘Nahai Khai’ ritual and will end on October 28, occurring on the sixth day of Kartik Shukla, six days post-Diwali.
