Bhubaneswar: Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi on Saturday encouraged the residents of Odisha to participate in the ‘Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam’- 2 campaign and assist the State in planting 75 lakh saplings to commemorate Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday on September 17. In a video message, Majhi mentioned that the State government aims to plant a total of 7.5 crore trees this year as part of the second phase of the campaign, which commenced on June 5 and will conclude on September 30. On Modi’s birthday, 75 lakh saplings will be planted throughout the State as a tribute to the Prime Minister. “Modi ji’s leadership in fostering a strong and developed India has received global acclaim.
He has a particular emphasis on the advancement of Odisha. In recognition of his commitment to the development of our State, we will plant 75 lakh saplings on that day. This will serve as a gift from the people of Odisha to Modi ji,” Majhi stated. Emphasizing the significance of ‘Mother’ as the greatest blessing, the Chief Minister urged everyone to plant a tree in honor of their mother. “I thus call upon all citizens, students, youth, SHG members, and voluntary organizations to unite in this noble endeavor of tree planting and ensure its success,” he added. “Let us all come together for this campaign. Let us show reverence for our mother and plant a tree to safeguard Mother Earth.
Together, we can create a greener and more beautiful world for future generations,” he concluded.
