The countdown has started for the release of OnePlus’s latest flagship smartphone. Following its debut in China earlier this week, the OnePlus 15 is set to launch globally on November 13, marking its eagerly awaited entry into the Indian market. Renowned for its dedicated user base and substantial presence in the premium smartphone segment, OnePlus is poised to make a significant impact with this new release. At first glance, the OnePlus 15 presents a distinct design transformation. The company has substituted its signature circular camera housing with a modern, squared camera module, giving the device a more balanced and minimalist look. The overall design feels more compact and polished, thanks to slimmer edges and a tidy rear panel.
Despite its sleeker profile, OnePlus has ensured that performance and battery longevity are not sacrificed. The device features a 6.78-inch AMOLED LTPO display with a 1.5K resolution and a 165Hz refresh rate, providing ultra-smooth visuals for gamers and multitaskers. According to OnePlus, this display can reach as low as 1 nit brightness, which helps reduce eye strain in low light conditions. While the company acknowledged that achieving a QHD+ resolution at 165Hz is not yet possible, it confirmed that the new display panel is more expensive than that of the OnePlus 13. Under the hood, the OnePlus 15 is equipped with Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 chipset, offering exceptional speed and efficiency.
The phone is available in configurations of up to 16GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage, providing sufficient power for demanding users and professionals. This year marks a significant improvement in battery performance, with a 7,300mAh battery—the largest seen in a OnePlus flagship—supporting 120W wired and 50W wireless charging. This configuration promises remarkable endurance and quick recharging, though the final specifications for the Indian variant may vary slightly from the Chinese version. On the camera side, OnePlus is introducing a triple 50-megapixel system that includes a Sony 1/1.56-inch primary sensor with OIS, along with a 50-megapixel ultra-wide and a 50-megapixel 3.5x periscope telephoto lens.
The phone supports 4K 120fps Dolby Vision recording and 8K video capture, appealing to serious content creators. Interestingly, the Hasselblad branding is absent this year, but OnePlus asserts that its new in-house image processing engine provides more natural colors and enhanced low-light performance. A 32-megapixel front camera enables 4K 60fps video, ensuring high-quality selfies and smooth vlogs. Regarding pricing, OnePlus has not yet disclosed official figures for the Indian market. However, given the launch price of the OnePlus 13 at ₹69,999, the new model is anticipated to fall within the ₹60,000–₹70,000 range. The smartphone is expected to be available through OnePlus’s official store, Amazon India, and key offline retail partners shortly after the launch event.
With premium hardware, a refreshed design, and improved battery life, the OnePlus 15 appears set to uphold the brand’s reputation for delivering flagship performance at a competitive price.
