Patanjali Yogpeeth Launches Innovative Emergency Care Hospital

A significant advancement in medical science was marked at Patanjali Yogpeeth with the informal inauguration of the Patanjali Emergency and Critical Care Hospital. In a ceremony that included Yagna-Agnihotra and Vedic mantras, Swami Ramdev Ji Maharaj announced the beginning of a new chapter in medical practice. He described the hospital in Haridwar as the initial step in a larger vision, with plans for a facility even more extensive than AIIMS, Apollo, or Medanta in the Delhi-NCR region. This new hospital is designed to prioritize patient care over corporate interests, aiming to provide health services through an integrative medicine approach.

Swamiji emphasized that modern medical science should only be applied in emergencies, proposing a novel global strategy that combines traditional medicine and modern techniques. The hospital will offer complex surgeries, including those of the brain, heart, and spine, alongside MRI, CT scans, X-rays, ultrasounds, and lab tests, adhering to high international standards. Hundreds of patients are treated daily, with a focus on only performing surgeries when necessary to alleviate the financial burden of hospital packages. Acharya Balkrishna Ji Maharaj highlighted the belief that only 20% of modern medical science is essential, advocating for the integration of 80% traditional practices to enhance global healthcare within a few years.

He reiterated that the physician’s commitment is to patient healing, not to any specific medical system. The hospital aims to serve as a model of integrated medical care and faces questions regarding its association with Patanjali, which boasts a world-class research center and a commitment to evidence-based Yoga and Ayurveda. The hospital’s research capabilities extend into nuclear and personalized medicine, distinguishing it from other institutions. Dr. Sunil Ahuja Ji and various other medical professionals were present, contributing to the initiative that aims to redefine patient care at Patanjali.
