On September 17, during a press conference in Delhi commemorating Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s 75th birthday, Swami Ramdev Ji Maharaj expressed deep respect for Modi’s contributions to the nation, highlighting his embodiment of Swadeshi, Swadharma, Rashtradharma, and Sanatan Dharma. Swami Ramdev praised Modi’s global leadership and wished him a long life, acknowledging his significant role in shaping national policies.
During the press conference, Swami Ramdev elaborated on Patanjali’s contributions toward building a self-reliant and developed India through Swadeshi principles. He also emphasized India’s rising global influence and leadership. As part of the national initiatives announced by Patanjali Yogpeeth, the Prime Minister’s Talent Award will reward meritorious students from CBSE, BSB (Indian Board of Education), and State Boards across all districts with prizes ranging from Rs 11,000 to Rs 51,000. Patanjali will organize free medical check-ups and health camps at 750 locations nationwide, providing free medicines and treatment for chronic liver diseases. Many individuals in India currently suffer from heart and liver ailments, and Patanjali aims to treat these patients using yoga, Ayurveda, and research-backed medicines.
In the context of the Developed India Campaign, Swami Ramdev underscored India’s historical economic prominence, noting that over the past 250 years, foreign companies have exploited the country, costing it over 100 trillion rupees. To elevate India’s economy to a leading global status, he announced that the Prime Minister’s call for ‘Vocal for Local’ would be embraced as a mass movement in every village and home. The Swadeshi campaign will aim to make India a global economic superpower, instill pride in indigenous initiatives, protect the nation from foreign exploitation, and foster prosperity.
Swami Ramdev called for a boycott of American and foreign companies that do not utilize advanced technology in daily life, emphasizing that the vision of a developed India is shared by 1.4 billion citizens. He stressed that determination and passion are essential to making India the greatest nation in the world. Furthermore, to reform the ideologically restrictive education system established by Macaulay’s influence, the Indian Education Board plans to connect 1 lakh, and later 3 lakh schools to an indigenous education system, fostering leaders who can guide the world.
