New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday invited global investors to engage in India’s maritime growth narrative, characterizing the nation as the “ideal harbour” for maritime sector investments. In a comprehensive LinkedIn post outlining his vision for India’s maritime revival, the Prime Minister emphasized the country’s strategic benefits, advanced infrastructure, and dedication to innovation, which collectively establish India as a worldwide center for shipping, logistics, and port-led development. “India is the perfect harbour for investing in the maritime sector. We possess a vast coastline, world-class ports, and the necessary infrastructure, innovation, and intent. Join us and invest in India!” the Prime Minister encouraged, calling on international partners to become part of India’s growing maritime ecosystem.
This appeal came after PM Modi’s engagement at the Maritime Leaders Conclave in Mumbai, part of India Maritime Week 2025, where he connected with leading CEOs and stakeholders in the global maritime industry. Reflecting on India’s rich maritime heritage, he remarked that the nation’s history, influenced by the naval prowess and trading skills of the Cholas and Marathas, has long shown how the seas can act as “bridges of opportunity.”
