Chamarajanagar (Karnataka), March 31 (). Prime Minister Narendra Modi will go on a safari tour to Bandipur Tiger Reserve on April 9 during his election tour of Karnataka. Sources gave this information on Friday.
PM Modi will inaugurate the three-day mega event to be held in Mysuru and Chamarajanagar districts to mark the completion of 50 years of Project Tiger. He will also release the latest tiger census report, the government’s vision for tiger conservation and release a coin to commemorate the event.
However, according to sources, the places have not been finalized yet.
Sources also told that PM Modi will reach Bandipur Tiger Reserve after attending the program in Mysore. Forest officials have started the work of repairing the roads in the tiger reserve. A helipad is being built at Melukamanahalli near Bandipur.
PM Modi is coming to the state after the announcement of elections and the implementation of the Model Code of Conduct. He had inaugurated the Bengaluru-Mysore Expressway and other projects worth Rs 16,000 crore on March 16.
Meanwhile, the Karnataka Police is deputing 1,500 police personnel to ensure tight security for PM Modi’s safari.
