Patna: Political strategist Prashant Kishor has pledged to persist in his reform efforts for Bihar following the Jan Suraaj Party’s defeat in the state elections. In a media briefing on Tuesday, Kishor announced a one-day fast at Bhitiharwa Ashram on November 20 as a sign of introspection and dedication to the people of Bihar. In Patna, Kishor acknowledged his party’s mistakes but stressed that no criminal acts were committed. “Not getting votes is not a crime,” he stated. He also took aim at the Nitish Kumar-led government and the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing them of distributing financial incentives to voters. “The government has given Rs 10,000 to 1.5 crore people.
Nitish Kumar has prima facie bought votes, but we have no proof,” Kishor remarked. He reaffirmed his commitment to Bihar, dispelling rumors of his potential departure from the state. “We will never step back. We will work with all our might and will win twice as hard,” he asserted, highlighting his goal to reduce migration from Bihar and enhance governance. Kishor urged those who had not received the promised Rs 2 lakh under government programs to reach out to him directly. “I will personally meet with Nitish Kumar and find a solution,” he mentioned. The strategist also pointed out that his party had refrained from exploiting caste or religious divisions during the elections. “We have never played the Hindu-Muslim card.
We did not create any caste or religious divides,” he asserted, maintaining that Jan Suraaj focused on good governance rather than vote-buying. Kishor outlined plans for structural reforms in Bihar, stating, “A new system will be established in Bihar. I take responsibility for this. Bihar’s future will change not from politics but from the united will of the people.”
