Chikkamagaluru (Karnataka), April 26 (). Congress General Secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra on Wednesday said that her family is going through a period of struggle at present. He appealed to the people to stand with the Congress party.
On the second day of her visit, Priyanka continued her attack on the BJP. Addressing an election rally at Sringeri in Chikkamagaluru district, he said, in 1978 when Indira ji (late former prime minister, her grandmother) came to Chikkamagaluru, it was also a period of struggle for her.
Priyanka further said, the people of Chikkamagaluru stood by her in those difficult times. Even today it is a time of struggle for Rahul ji and my family. We have full faith that the people of the country will stand with us. I have full hope that you will lead Congress to victory in Karnataka.
He said, this morning I went to Mylari Hotel in Mysuru. His boss told me that his father had started running a hotel. I also met his daughter, who works in Infosys, that is Karnataka’s identity, looking to the future while preserving its traditions, culture and civilization.
Priyanka asked, a big minister says don’t look at your candidates, hand over Karnataka to PM Modi, why brother? Can’t the sons and daughters of Basavanna ji, Narayan Guru ji run the state on their own?
He further said, six months back I had gone abroad to drop my daughter to her college. There I met a young man from Bangalore, who was working in an IT company. We both felt proud, the self-respect, confidence and pride of Karnataka was on his face. I felt proud that the youth of my country has come so far, my father’s dream has come true.
I am proud of Karnataka, your hard work, your honesty. But I also feel sorry for you because the government in Karnataka for the last three and a half years has broken your trust. Priyanka Gandhi alleged that this government was formed on the basis of greed.
He said that this government was formed by buying MLAs, toppling the Congress-JD(S) government. The BJP government has broken every promise. He had said that he would give jobs, double the income of farmers, reduce prices, but did nothing.
Apart from this, Priyanka Gandhi said that the youth have not been given employment. Two and a half lakh government posts are lying vacant, but the youth are not getting jobs. The rate of every post has been fixed, there is a scam in every examination taken for recruitment. The condition is that contractors are committing suicide due to commission.
The Contractors Association and the School Management Association wrote letters to the PM regarding corruption, but did not get any response. The MLA’s son was caught with Rs 8 crore in cash, but no action was taken.
Priyanka alleged that Kovid patients were also looted here. No one was spared.
He said, who created a cooperative organization like Nandini? You have made it with your hard work. Earlier milk was distributed in schools. The Congress government had brought Ksheer Bhagya and Ksheer Dhare schemes. Now, the BJP says that milk production is going down, so Karnataka milk brand Nandini should be merged with Gujarat’s Amul. He alleged that the earnings of more than 1 crore people are at stake, but he does not care about them.
Priyanka said that the loans of farmers have been waived off in Congress-ruled Rajasthan and Chhattisgarh. Maximum MSP is being given in Chhattisgarh. He claimed that the old pension scheme has been implemented in Himachal Pradesh as per our promise.
