Chandigarh, May 26 (). The State Special Operation Cell of Punjab Police in Mohali on Friday busted a criminal gang involved in gang rivalry. The team arrested a gang member and recovered a 30 bore pistol and five cartridges.
The accused has been identified as Rahul alias Akash, a resident of Firozpur. The police have also registered a case against his close aide Sukh alias Subhash.
Both are history-sheeters and are facing cases of double murder, attempt to murder and possession of arms, among others.
AIG Ashwani Kapoor said that they received inputs that accused Rahul and Sukh were planning to target rival gang members. He said that they were also arranging more illegal weapons from their unknown associates.
