In a sharp critique on Wednesday, the Congress party targeted Prime Minister Narendra Modi regarding comments made by US President Donald Trump. Trump reiterated his assertion that he intervened in the India-Pakistan conflict through trade, prompting Rahul Gandhi to declare that Modi is “scared” of Trump and urged him to muster the courage to respond. Gandhi challenged Modi to openly refute Trump’s claims when he visits Bihar. Congress general secretary Jairam Ramesh posted video clips on X, showcasing Trump’s statements made in Japan and South Korea about his role in de-escalating tensions between India and Pakistan. Ramesh remarked that the Prime Minister’s bravado, once characterized by a “56-inch chest,” has now diminished and remains silent.
While addressing a rally in Darbhanga, Bihar, Gandhi stated that Modi is afraid of Trump, pointing out that the US President has claimed multiple times to have pressured Modi, who has not responded. He emphasized that those without courage cannot contribute to the development of Bihar.
