Rishikesh, 24 April (). The weather is bad in the hilly areas of Uttarakhand. Bad weather has also hit the registration for Kedarnath Dham pilgrimage. Due to snowfall, the registration of pilgrims going here has been stopped for the time being. At present, registrations have been stopped till 30 April.
Dehradun district’s SSP Dilip Singh Kunwar appealed to the pilgrims to maintain restraint by visiting the registration center in Rishikesh. Also asked to cooperate with the police during the yatra. After inspecting the traffic system, the SSP returned to Dehradun.
SSP Dilip Singh Kunwar reached Rishikesh on the occasion of weekend on Sunday. First of all, he inspected the Yatra Transit Campus. On the spot, he instructed the police personnel to listen deeply to every problem of the passengers and solve it promptly. On the occasion, the SSP interacted with the pilgrims going on Chardham Yatra. Made them aware by informing them about the closed registration of Kedarnath Dham due to heavy snowfall.
The SSP said that due to heavy snowfall, the registrations have been closed for the time being. Which will be opened as soon as arrangements are made. After meeting the passengers, SSP reached Nepali Farm via Chandrabhaga Bridge to Shyampur Gate. The SSP himself was seen keeping an eye on the traffic system all the way. He also took feedback from the subordinate police personnel about the traffic arrangements. The officers were again directed to implement the route plan from time to time as per the requirement.
SSP Dilip Singh Kunwar said that the roads are narrow. There is too much traffic. That’s why traffic can be controlled only with the readiness of the police. Do not be negligent of any kind. The SSP told that being the gateway of Chardham Yatra, he himself is continuously monitoring all the arrangements. Constantly engaged in taking feedback from the officers. He is repeatedly visiting Rishikesh regarding traffic arrangements.
Dehradun SSP said that he has appealed to the passengers to cooperate with the police regarding the problems being faced due to the closed registration of Kedarnath Dham. SP Dehat Kamlesh Upadhyay Kotwal Khushiram Pandey SSI Darshan Singh Kala were present on the occasion.
Registrations are being done in Haridwar and Rishikesh for Chardham Yatra. Currently, registrations for Kedarnath Dham have been stopped till April 30. Registration can be done by calling toll free number 1364 (from Uttarakhand) or 0135-1364 or 0135- 3520100. According to the Uttarakhand government, so far more than 15 lakh pilgrims have registered themselves for the Chardham Yatra.
Chardham Yatra 2023 of Uttarakhand has started from Saturday 22nd April. On April 22, the portals of Gangotri and Yamunotri shrines located in Uttarkashi district have opened. The doors of Kedarnath Dham are to open on Tuesday, April 25. The doors of Badrinath Dham will open on 27th April.
