Patna, April 17 (). In the wake of the sensational custodial killings of gangster-turned-politician Atiq Ahmed and his brother Ashraf Ahmed in Prayagraj, the RJD on Sunday said there is clear jungle raj in Uttar Pradesh.
RJD national vice-president Shivanand Tiwari said that on April 15, his apprehension proved true. He said, Atiq Ahmed during his interview with media persons on March 29 had claimed that he would be brought out of jail and killed. He had also told media persons that a police officer had informed him about such a plan.
He said, whenever Ateeq Ahmed came to public places, a large number of police forces surrounded him. There was no chance for any media person to reach there. On April 15, the police took Atiq Ahmed and his brother out of the police van. Some media persons easily reached there and interviewed them and the killers disguised themselves as media persons. who allowed media persons to get close to Ateeq Ahmed, who was in police custody.
Tiwari said, Atiq Ahmed was facing more than 100 criminal charges and there were possibilities that the court would award him the death penalty. No one has any objection to the court’s decision. But the way the killers were given the opportunity to kill Ateeq Ahmed and his brother proved that the Uttar Pradesh government does not believe in law and judicial process. The state which is not governed through law and legislature is called Jungle Raj. There is a provision to implement Article 356 of the Constitution in such a state.
Meanwhile, the Bihar government is on high alert, especially in districts adjoining Uttar Pradesh. A large number of people from UP districts like Ballia and Ghazipur come to Buxar to catch the train and the police of these districts are checking every person crossing the border into Bihar.
