At the IFA 2025 tech conference, Roborock unveiled three lawn mower models, highlighted by the RockMow Z1. This premium mower features all-wheel drive technology designed to handle steep slopes of up to 80 percent or 38.66 degrees. The Z1’s impressive engineering includes individual hub motors for each wheel and dedicated steering motors for the front wheels, allowing for enhanced maneuverability on inclines. It also includes suspension to maintain balance during cutting, ensuring a consistent and even cut. The mower can trim up to 3 centimeters from walls, providing a neat and polished appearance to lawns.
Its navigation capabilities further distinguish the Z1, utilizing satellite-based real-time Kinematics (RTK) and visual simultaneous mapping and localization (vSLAM), enabling precise navigation through diverse yard layouts. According to the company’s website, the Z1 can mow over 5,000 square meters in a single day and is programmable via a companion app that allows users to design mowing patterns or text directly on their lawns. Alongside the Z1, Roborock introduced the RockMow S1, a more budget-friendly option that forgoes some high-end features but still offers AI-powered smart mapping and can handle slopes of up to 45 percent (approximately 24.2 degrees). Although slightly slower than the Z1, the S1 can cover 1,000 square meters in 24 hours.
Additionally, Roborock launched the RockNeo Q1, aimed at regular lawn maintenance, featuring AI intelligent mapping, effective edging up to 3 centimeters, and a wildlife-friendly mode that avoids night-time cutting to protect nocturnal animals. It remains unclear whether this feature is available on the other mower models.
