New Delhi, April 21 (). A woman in her 40s was shot at in Delhi’s Saket Court complex on Friday morning. Police sources said that the attackers had come in the guise of lawyers, whose identity has been ascertained.
The injured woman has been identified as M. Radha and her condition is now stable.
According to sources, the accused has been identified as suspended advocate Kameshwar Singh.
According to the police, the incident took place around 10.30 am.
Deputy Commissioner of Police (South) Chandan Chowdhary said, the woman was hit by two bullets in her abdomen and one in her hand. He was taken to Max Saket Hospital. His condition is stable.
The DCP said, the accused has been identified. He was also banned by the Bar Council. The accused had filed a cheating case against the victim and the hearing was to be held in Saket court today.
According to eyewitness Ranjit Singh Dalal, a total of 4-5 rounds of firing were done and the accused fled from the rear side of the court canteen.
Police teams have been formed to nab the accused and further investigation is underway, said the DCP.
Security checks have again come under question after a man entered the court premises with a weapon despite being searched by metal detectors and security officers.
