New Delhi, May 20 (). Sameer Wankhede, former Mumbai zonal director of the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB), arrived at the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) office in Mumbai on Saturday to join the probe into the alleged extortion demand of Rs 25 crore in the Aryan Khan drug case. This will be the first round of questioning of Wankhede in the case and CBI sources have said that he will be asked around 40-50 questions.
This came a day after the Bombay High Court on Friday directed the CBI not to take any coercive action at Wankhede till May 22, when the case would come up for hearing.
Earlier, the CBI had raided the premises of Wankhede and his family members.
Wankhede has denied having anything to do with the matter and said that he is being framed.
He has accused DDG, NCB Dnyaneshwar Singh of trying to frame him in the case.
CBI has seized Wankhede’s mobile phone and sent it to FSL.
