Hyderabad: Samunnati, a prominent enabler of agri-value chains, partnered with NABARD to host the 5th Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO) Conclave at the Hyderabad International Convention Centre. The event, themed “Partnerships for Sustainability towards a Future-Ready FPO Ecosystem,” brought together policymakers, industry leaders, and farmer collectives to discuss ways to strengthen India’s FPO movement. A key feature of the conclave was the unveiling of the Access SAP Report on Social Procurement, which highlights responsible procurement practices aimed at enhancing value chains, promoting rural entrepreneurship, and integrating smallholder farmers into mainstream markets. The conclave included several panel discussions, such as one on Inclusive Digital Advisory Services, showcasing how technologies focused on farmers are enhancing access to knowledge, finance, and markets for smallholders.
Another panel, Policy-Finance Linkages for Sustainable Horticulture, emphasized the need to align policy with financial mechanisms to encourage innovation and investment in the sector. A special session called “Perspectives on Agri Marketing: Journey from Gram Haats to Global Markets” featured insights from Samunnati Foundation Chairman Pravesh Sharma and ITC Limited Group Head – Agri & IT Businesses Sivakumar S, discussing the transformation of agricultural markets from local haats to integrated global value chains.
