Shreyas Iyer, the Indian batsman, sustained an injury during the third ODI against Australia in Sydney on October 25 while fielding. He was struck near his left lower ribs and was quickly taken to the hospital. Medical examinations revealed a small laceration in his spleen. Iyer is currently receiving treatment and is reported to be stable and recovering well. The BCCI medical team is closely monitoring his condition, with specialists from both Sydney and India involved in his care. The team doctor will remain in Sydney to assess his recovery on a daily basis.
