In Jammu, a soldier died after being shot with his service rifle outside a military hospital in Udhampur district on Tuesday, according to officials. The police have initiated inquest proceedings to determine if the soldier’s death was due to accidental firing or suicide. At the time of the incident, the soldier-driver was waiting in a parked medicine supply vehicle in the main town when he sustained the fatal gunshot wound. His fellow soldiers rushed to the location after hearing the gunshot and discovered him lying in a pool of blood.
