New Delhi, May 4 (). On the basis of a secret information, the Special Cell of Delhi Police has arrested the absconding criminal after being released on parole. An official gave this information on Thursday.
Special Cell DCP Alok Kumar said that the accused, identified as Anil alias Sunil, was convicted by the court in a robbery case and sentenced to seven years rigorous imprisonment. The person was released on parole, but after coming out on parole, he did not surrender in jail and indulged in criminal activities.
Alok Kumar said that a semi-automatic pistol of 32 bore and two live cartridges were recovered from him. The accused was earlier involved in 10 criminal cases of attempt to murder, dacoity, criminal intimidation and Arms Act.
The officer said that ACP Attar Singh, Inspector Ranjit Singh and Satwinder had received a tip-off about the accused on the run from the police. The accused was nabbed from Kanjhawala area of outer Delhi.
The officer said that in the case of robbery in Rohini, the accused has been sentenced to rigorous imprisonment. In this case, he along with his armed accomplices had committed robbery in a jewelery shop in Sector-8 Rohini and looted jewelery worth Rs 40 lakh. The accused had also fired several rounds during the robbery to scare the shop owner and his employees.
