Shri Maharaj Ji Prempal Rawat is an Indian by birth and a member of a well-known saintly family from Haridwar, Uttarakhand. You were born on December 10, 1957 in Haridwar as the youngest (fourth) son of Shri Guru Hans Ji Maharaj and your mother’s name was Jagat Janani Mata Shri Rajeshwari Devi.
Your early education was completed at St. Joseph’s Academy, Dehradun. Your elder brother Mr. Satpal Maharaj is a well-known personality in the spiritual and political fields.
At the age of three, he addressed a religious meeting in the company of his father. When he was six years old, his father and teacher initiated him and taught him the method of worship.

In 1966, his father passed away. According to the popular tradition, when there was discussion about the successor of Guru Shri Hans Ji Maharaj, then Shri Balayogeshwar (Prempal Singh Ji Rawat) addressed the condolence meeting and said that his Guru (Hans Ji Maharaj) is immortal and is present there.
Hearing this address, everyone accepted him (Prempal Rawat) as their successor and Satguru. Because he was still young, he continued to get the protection of his mother and elder brother. Shree Balayogeshwar, blessed with the wisdom accumulated in the past, continued to address his devotees and followers like his father.
In the sixties, many philanthropists from western countries came to India in search of a Guru. Who came in contact with his local followers. He was influenced by him and gradually became his devotee. In 1970, devotees from these countries came to India to see the Guru and were moved by listening to the discourse called ‘Peace Bomb’ by Shri Balayogeshwar (aged 12) at India Gate.
On the suggestion of devotees, he went on a foreign tour in 1970 and visited Glastonbury Fair, Los Angeles, New York, Washington, Canada and South Africa. Met people, told them about God worship and mental peace and inner consciousness. People’s hearts had faith and trust in you. Your relationship and love increased.
There was a discussion among the residents that a 13 year old youth has the ability to make God feel. His fame started increasing. When he returned to India in the same year, about 300 devotees came here with him by air and started living in his ashrams.
In view of his future travels, he learned to fly an airplane and in 1972 two airplanes were provided for him. Along with this, arrangements were made for their residence in London, New York, Colorado, California, India and Australia. In the same year, on the occasion of Hans Jayanti, about 50,000 devotees from abroad reached India, whose air fare, food and living expenses were raised by the devotees.
Wherever Mr. Balayogeshwar goes, there is unprecedented publicity. Thousands of people followed him wherever he went, posters adorned buildings and walls in all major cities, newspapers, TVs and cameras covered his discourses and meetings.
Huge crowds are a common sight at his meetings and rallies. By the end of 1973, his mission was active in 55 countries, with lakhs of followers, hundreds of mission centers and dozens of ashrams. This was the time when the mission was at the pinnacle of success.
In May 1974, he married Marolyn Johnson, a resident of San Diego, California. His mother got angry with his marriage to a foreign woman and as a result there was a rift in the family relations. In 1977, he accepted US citizenship.
Prempal Rawat Shri Guru Maharaj believes that the goal of human life is to attain salvation. For this, contemplation, meditation, remembrance, worship and human service are essential to God with true devotion and faith. Worship cannot happen without mental and inner peace. Peace is not possible without satisfaction.
Vision and interview with him is possible, but it is a necessary condition to become a worthy character. Shri Guru Maharaj strongly criticizes orthodoxy, religious rituals and superstitions. He believes that God is both formless and formless. In formless form he has consciousness and divine light.
