Chennai, April 16 (). Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin on Sunday thanked Delhi Chief Minister and Aam Aadmi Party leader Arvind Kejriwal for joining the campaign against the governors.
The Chief Minister of Tamil Nadu had called upon the Chief Ministers of non-BJP ruled states to pass resolutions in their respective Assemblies to fix a time frame for passage of the Bills by the Governors.
Thank you for appreciating the resolution of the Tamil Nadu Assembly and for joining us,” Stalin wrote on his Twitter handle. In fact the supremacy of the legislature is supreme in any democracy. No appointed governor shall dilute the power and responsibilities of the elected governments.
He said: Thi Parvattum (Let the fire spread.)
Stalin had on April 9 urged the President and the central government to fix a deadline for governors to give their assent to the bills.
Tamil Nadu Governor R.N. The resolution was passed by the Tamil Nadu Assembly following Ravi’s statement that withholding the bill meant it was dead.
