Sudheer Anand, affectionately known as Sudigaali Sudheer, continues to establish his presence on both television and film. Today, his new movie was officially announced. This project, directed by Prasanna Kumar Kota in his directorial debut, also marks the production debut for Siva Cherry and Ravikiran under the banner of Vajra Varahi Cinemas. It is recognized as Production No. 1 for the banner and represents Sudheer Anand’s fifth film as a lead actor. The film, categorized as a rural drama, features Shivaji, who recently captivated audiences with his powerful performance in ‘Court’, in the role of the antagonist. Titled ‘Hai Lesso’, the name is inspired by a colloquial term commonly used in farming communities, lending it an authentic rural feel.
The title logo is creatively crafted, resembling a ship, where a female leg forms the letter ‘S’. Additionally, a mysterious figure wielding a weapon is visible. The title poster conveys a mythical and rustic atmosphere, showcasing a regal foot adorned with golden anklets and toe rings, stepping onto a large green leaf. On the leaf is a traditional offering of cooked rice mixed with hen and goat heads, flowers, and sindoor, symbolizing rituals and sacrifice. A blood-soaked sword enhances the dramatic effect, suggesting themes of divine power and conflict. The intensity of the story is foreshadowed by the title poster alone. The film was launched during a grand ceremony today, attended by the core team and various special guests.
Hero Nikhil revealed the title, while Bunny Vasu formally presented the script to the filmmakers. Directors Vassishta, Chandoo Mondeti, and Meher Ramesh activated the camera, and VV Vinayak initiated the clapboard for the muhurtham shot. Director Prasanna Kumar himself called action for the film’s inaugural shot. Natasha Singh and Naksha Saran star as the female leads, with popular Kannada actress Akshara Gowda taking on a significant role. The cast also includes Motta Rajendran, Getup Srinu, and Bevara Duhitha Saranya among others. The movie will feature a young and talented team of technicians overseeing various aspects of production.
Anudeep Dev will compose the music, Sujatha Siddarth will handle cinematography, Chota K Prasad will manage editing, Brahma Kadali will serve as the production designer, and Chintha Srinivas is the writer. ‘Hai Lesso’ is set to release theatrically in all South Indian languages—Telugu, Tamil, Kannada, and Malayalam.
