Ingredients

  • Semolina (rawa) - 1 cup
  • Curd - 1 cup
  • Onion - 1/2 cup finely
  • chopped
  • Green chilli - 2 finely chopped
  • Ginger - 1 inch piece
  • Chopped coriander leaves - 2 teaspoons
  • Salt - according to taste
  • Baking soda - 1/4 teaspoon
  • Oil - for frying

Instructions

  • Preparing the batter – Mix semolina and curd in a large bowl and mix well. Cover this mixture and keep it for 15-20 minutes so that the semolina swells.

  • Adding additional ingredients Now add finely chopped onion, green chili, ginger, coriander leaves and salt to it. Mix well. If the mixture seems thick, add some water and bring it to the right consistency.

 

  • Shaping the vada Add baking soda to the mixture and beat it well. Now apply some oil on the hands and make small balls from the mixture and give them the shape of vada. Q

 

  • Frying – Heat oil in a pan. When the oil is well heated, carefully add the vada and fry on medium flame till it becomes golden brown and crispy.

 

  • Serving – Take out the fried vada on kitchen paper so that the excess oil drains. Serve hot semolina vada with coconut chutney or sambar. Your semolina vadas are now ready. They can also be served with hot tea.
