Chandigarh, May 15 (). Lieutenant General Devendra Sharma will take over as the Chief of Staff at the Headquarters of the Army’s Western Command. He handed over the command of Vajra Corps to Lieutenant General Vijay B. handed over to Nair.
Passout from National Defense Academy and Indian Military Academy. General Sharma took command of Vajra Corps on 10 February 2022.
He has held various positions in his career spanning over three decades. He has been a part of Anti-Infiltration Operation, Operation Rakshak, Operation Vijay and Operation Parakram along the Line of Control.
He also has experience in training and placement.
While commanding the Vajra Corps, he focused on raising the level of operational preparedness by enhancing military training and interaction with other services. He also took measures for capacity building and capability enhancement.
The commanding officer of Vajra Corps, Lt. General Vijay B. Nair is also a pass out of National Defense Academy and Indian Military Academy. He was commissioned in the Punjab Regiment in 1988.
In a career spanning over three and a half decades, he has handled many important responsibilities.
