Kolkata, March 29 (). Enforcement Directorate (ED) officials probing the multi-crore scam in recruitment of teaching and non-teaching staff in state-run schools on Wednesday raided two residences of an employee of the West Bengal School Service Commission (WBSSC) and Conducted a search operation.
Sources said the owner of the residence is Arnab Basu who is currently attached with the accounts department of WBSSC, the nodal body of the state government for conducting tests and interviews for recruitment and interview of teaching and non-teaching staff in the state.
Both the residences where the raids and searches were conducted were located in Salt Lake, on the northern outskirts of Kolkata. However, ED officials remained tight-lipped on the outcome of the raids and search operations at two residences of WBSSC employees.
Meanwhile, ED officials on Wednesday questioned Kakoli Shil, wife of real estate promoter arrested in connection with Ayan Shil’s recruitment scam, at the central agency’s office in the Central Government Office (CGO) complex in Salt Lake. Sources said that Kakoli Sheel, who currently lives in Delhi with her son, reached Kolkata on Saturday morning and appeared at the ED office. On Wednesday, he faced the second round of questioning by the central agency.
According to ED sources, Kakoli is a director in a company formed by Sheel Ayan and hence questioning him has become necessary in this case.
