In Chhindwara, Madhya Pradesh, a teacher couple reportedly left their fourth child in a forest, fearing job loss, according to an official report on Friday. Their actions came to light when a motorcyclist heard the infant’s cries and informed the police. The baby boy, born on September 24, was found in the Nandanwadi-Tahtori forest within Amarwara tehsil, stated Sub Divisional Officer of Police Kalyani Barkade. After his rescue, the baby was taken to the district hospital, and authorities initiated an investigation to locate his parents. The couple, who teach at a primary school in Sidhouli, were eventually identified. They disclosed to the police that they abandoned their son due to concerns over their government jobs.

Under Madhya Pradesh civil service regulations, government employees cannot hold their positions if they have a third child born after January 26, 2001. Bablu Dandolia, aged 38, and Rajkumari Dandolia, aged 28, were arrested on Wednesday and later released on bail by the court. Block Education Officer Virendra Verma confirmed that the case is under investigation. District Education Officer Gopal Singh Baghel mentioned that he has requested the couple’s employment records from the school and that appropriate actions will be determined following the inquiry.
