Tide, the leading financial management platform for small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in India, has introduced National Common Mobility Card (NCMC) support to its RuPay-powered Expense Card. This innovation enables small businesses and freelancers to travel, tap, and transact using a single card. Tide members can now conveniently pay for metro, bus, tolls, and parking in major Indian cities while efficiently managing invoices, reimbursements, and expenses through the Tide app. Supported by the Government of India, the NCMC integration allows users to handle public transit and business travel expenses with one card, removing the necessity of carrying multiple travel cards or toggling between payment applications.
With real-time top-up options available in the Tide app, members can recharge their cards instantly, monitor balances, and benefit from quicker access at transit gates without queues. This integration is intended for entrepreneurs, freelancers, and small business teams who are frequently on the move. By combining NCMC’s interoperable travel payment system with Tide’s expense management capabilities, users can oversee their travel and business expenditures securely in one location. This feature is in line with Tide’s existing financial tools, enabling SMEs to manage payments, invoices, and expenses within a unified platform. Kumar Shekhar, Deputy Country Manager at Tide in India, remarked, ‘Our goal has always been to simplify business spending.
The integration of NCMC support marks a significant advancement towards facilitating seamless travel and business expense management. Our members can now utilize a single solution for transit, tolls, and public transportation, ensuring their business expenses are captured, categorized, and reconciled in real-time. This is more than just an upgrade; it’s a transformative approach for business owners to manage travel, expenses, and cash flow across India’s varied mobility landscape.’ The NCMC support introduction is part of Tide’s ongoing initiative to broaden its product offerings and provide integrated business management solutions tailored for Indian SMEs.
By incorporating payments, invoicing, Udyam and GST registration, government scheme exploration, bill payments, and fixed deposits, Tide aims to reinforce its position as a comprehensive business management platform for entrepreneurs. Since its launch in late 2022, India has emerged as Tide’s fastest-growing market, serving over 800,000 SMEs in just over two and a half years. Indian SMEs make up the majority of Tide’s global member base of 1.6 million. Tide’s mission is to save SMEs time and money, allowing them to focus on their core passions. The platform is designed to be simple, intuitive, and easy to set up in real-time, offering RuPay-powered Expense Cards through a partnership with Transcorp, an RBI-regulated PPI issuer.
