Meanwhile, the release of rescued female tigress from Surajpur forest division in Achanakmar Tiger Reserve is a happy coincidence. As per standard operating procedure, the tigress was fitted with a radio collar by a team of wildlife doctors and after that the female tigress was successfully released into the proper habitat.

After being released in the natural habitat, a suitable monitoring system has been established to trace the movement of the tigress for the next one month. For this, the field staff has been specially trained in Panna Tiger Reserve. A team of two research scholars and wildlife doctors from the Wildlife Institute of India has also been specially deployed. With the establishment of this female tigress in Achanakmar, the department is hopeful of increasing the number of tigers in Achanakmar.
