TikTok Launches AI Tools for Effortless Video Editing and Enhanced Earnings

TikTok is making significant strides in supporting creators by launching AI-driven tools aimed at easing the process of content creation and editing. During its US Creator Summit, the platform introduced three new features, which include enhancements to subscription revenue sharing and innovative tools that assist creators in planning, structuring, and editing videos more effectively. Among the standout additions is Smart Split, an AI editing tool that automatically converts long-form videos into shorter, vertical clips optimized for mobile viewing. This tool is applicable for videos exceeding one minute and is especially beneficial for creators dealing with lengthy podcast recordings or extensive wearable camera footage.

Users can choose which segments to convert, while Smart Split manages the remaining tasks, such as adjusting clip lengths, generating captions, and reframing content vertically. This feature is now accessible worldwide via TikTok Studio Web. Additionally, TikTok launched AI Outline, a pre-production tool that aids creators before they begin filming. This tool utilizes AI to create a comprehensive outline for a video, complete with titles, hashtags, hooks, and script ideas based on a prompt or trending theme. While creators can customize the AI-generated suggestions to fit their personal style, the tool is currently available only to users over 18 in the US, Canada, and certain other regions, with plans for a broader rollout soon.

In conjunction with these AI innovations, TikTok is also refining its creator monetization model. Presently, creators who offer paid subscriptions receive 70 percent of the platform’s revenue share after fees. However, TikTok revealed that qualifying creators — those with at least 10,000 followers, 100,000 views in the past month, and three subscription-only posts — can now earn up to 90 percent of the revenue share, providing a substantial incentive for creating consistent and engaging content. Through these updates, TikTok aims to equip creators with more advanced AI tools and improved monetization, establishing a new benchmark for creativity and growth within the short-form video landscape.
