New Delhi, May 12 (). A Delhi court on Friday extended by three days the police custody of six accused arrested for their alleged involvement in the murder of gangster Tillu Tajpuria in Tihar Jail.
Jailed Tajpuria, 33, was stabbed to death by assailants more than 90 times on May 2. In this case, the police had arrested Deepak Dabas, Yogesh Tunda, Rajesh Bawana, Riyaz Khan, Ata-ul Rehman and Chavanni.
The custody of all the accused was ending on Friday, so they were produced before the Patiala House Court. The police demanded the custody of the accused from the court, which the court accepted and extended the police custody of all the accused till May 15.
Tillu Tajpuria, a resident of Tajpur Kalan on the outskirts of Delhi, was murdered by members of the Jitendra Gogi gang in Tihar Jail on May 2. Tajpuria was kept on the ground floor of jail number 8 amid tight security in the jail.
Tillu Tajpuria was an accused in the 2021 Rohini Court shootout in which gangster Jitendra Gogi was killed. According to a senior police officer involved in the investigation, on May 8, the four accused were taken to the forensic department of Dr. Baba Sahib Ambedkar Hospital, after receiving 4 days of police custody. Where the doctors of the forensic department had done a detailed medical examination of all four.
