The confusion regarding his visit to New Delhi started from Monday night. On the one hand, he claimed that his journey was personal. On the other hand, his son Subhranshu Roy, who is a former Trinamool Congress MLA, filed a missing report about his father at a local police station. He accused the BJP of playing dirty politics using his father.
Although both of Mukul Roy’s mobile phones were switched off since Monday night, he expressed his desire to rejoin the BJP on Tuesday night to a local news channel.
Informing that the BJP leadership has made all arrangements for his stay in the national capital, Roy confirmed that he wishes to meet Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP national president JP Nadda during his stay in New Delhi. Are. He claimed that he officially remained a BJP MLA and wanted to return to the party.
During the conversation, he also advised his son to join BJP and said that it would be the best decision in the current situation. However, his son continued to claim that his father was not in the right mental state.
Mukul Roy, once West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee’s most trusted lieutenant and national general secretary of the Trinamool Congress, switched to the BJP in 2017. He became the National Vice President of the saffron force and successfully contested the 2021 West Bengal Assembly Elections from the Krishnanagar (North) Assembly Constituency in Nadia District.
