Kolkata, April 29 (). Trinamool Congress MLA Jiban Krishna Saha, who was recently arrested by the CBI in connection with an alleged multi-crore recruitment scam in West Bengal, is now reported to be drawing double salary as an MLA and a government school teacher .
Devgram High School in Birbhum district, where Saha was a teacher, has informed the state school education department that despite not attending his teaching duties for a single day since becoming an MLA in 2021, Saha regularly were getting salary.
The school authorities have also recommended that the payment of salary to his bank account should be stopped immediately. School education department sources said the school authorities have sent the recommendations to the office of the district inspector of schools in Birbhum and the papers will be sent by next week to the state directorate of education, which will again send its recommendations to the education department.
Saha was arrested by the CBI from his residence on April 17 and is currently in custody. Saha is the third Trinamool MLA to be arrested by central agencies, the previous two being former education minister Partha Chatterjee and former West Bengal Board of Primary Education chairman Manik Bhattacharya.
