Bhubaneswar: In Odisha, two wild elephants have died in separate incidents, as reported by officials on Saturday. One elephant, which was receiving treatment after becoming ill in the Chandaka forest area, passed away late on Friday. It is believed that the 22-year-old elephant succumbed to an infection in its digestive system. Meanwhile, a young tusker was discovered dead in the Saramula reserved forest within the Rasgovindpur range of Mayurbhanj district. It is suspected that the tusker may have been killed during a confrontation with other wild animals. However, officials indicated that the exact cause of death would be determined through a post-mortem examination.
