According to the latest report from the Comptroller and Auditor General (CAG) of India, Uttarakhand has reached a historic milestone with a revenue surplus of ₹5,310 crore for the financial year 2022–23. This achievement places Uttarakhand among the states that recorded a revenue surplus during this period. Key highlights from the CAG report include: a revenue surplus of ₹5,310 crore in FY 2022–23, indicating a significant improvement in the state’s financial health. Once categorized as ‘BIMARU’, Uttarakhand now exemplifies effective financial management. Despite previous financial discipline challenges, the state attained this surplus through careful management and transparent policies. This accomplishment reflects the impact of Uttarakhand’s governance strategies, inspired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of a ‘Developed India’.

It signifies progress toward the state’s economic self-sufficiency and a brighter future. The government is committed to enhancing transparency, accountability, and financial discipline to ensure Uttarakhand becomes a developed and self-reliant state.
