Vivo has introduced OriginOS 6 and BlueOS 3, its latest software advancements for smartphones and smartwatches, merging aesthetic design with advanced AI functionalities. OriginOS 6, based on Android 16, makes its debut on the Vivo X300 Pro, Vivo X300, and iQOO 15, with plans for distribution to older models beginning November 2025. Concurrently, BlueOS 3 for wearables offers extended battery life and new intelligent features. OriginOS 6 features a significant visual redesign across the home screen, lock screen, and system applications. The new interface showcases circular app icons, smooth transitions, and adaptive widgets that adjust dynamically with notifications. Drawing inspiration from Apple’s Liquid Glass aesthetic from iOS 26, the design emphasizes depth, curvature, and fluid movement.
A key element is the “Atomic Island,” Vivo’s version of Apple’s Dynamic Island, which consolidates controls for media, timers, and alerts in a compact, interactive area. Enhanced blur effects, organized notifications, and a revamped control center with customizable quick toggles further refresh the user experience. On the technical side, Vivo’s Blue River Smooth Engine powers the OS, utilizing a dual-rendering architecture, super-core computing, and photonic storage to provide a lag-free experience, stable frame rates, and responsive animations. Vivo claims this engine offers “superior touch performance” and smooth multitasking, even under heavy usage.
OriginOS 6 also incorporates various AI-driven utilities aimed at boosting daily productivity, including a smart phone assistant, AI summary generator, Circle to Search 2.0, and Live Photo AI Removal, allowing users to eliminate unwanted elements from both still and moving images. Additional features include AI image upscaling, automatic object removal, and image-to-PDF conversion. On the wearable front, BlueOS 3 enhances battery longevity, introduces new watch faces, features smoother animations, and supports Blue Heart V voice calling. This update will first appear on the Vivo Watch 5 and iQOO Watch 5 (Wi-Fi and Cellular variants) in early November as part of a public beta.
Vivo asserts that the Vivo Watch GT 2 can now operate for up to 33 days on a single charge with the new OS. The rollout of OriginOS 6 is set to commence in November 2025, reaching devices such as the Vivo X-Fold 5, Vivo X200 series, and iQOO 13, before expanding to other flagship and mid-range models by May 2026. With a design ethos focused on fluidity and user interaction, Vivo’s OriginOS 6 and BlueOS 3 signify the brand’s advancement towards creating intelligent and visually engaging digital experiences.
